Military Police

The key tasks of the Military Police of the Estonian Defence Forces include supervising the discipline, carrying out criminal proceedings in service related crimes, and proceeding disciplinary investigations. The Military Police of the Estonian Defence Forces also ensures the protection of the foreign ministers of defence, the management of the armed forces, and the management of the international organisations.

Furthermore, the Military Police of the Estonian Defence Forces performs traffic supervision of vehicles of the Defence Forces of Estonia and regulates the movement of military convoys. The Military Police of the Estonian Defence Forces also ensures the protection of critical resources of the Estonian Defence Forces in case of a heightened risk.

The tasks of personal safety are carried out during the visits of higher defence guests in the Republic of Estonia and also during foreign visits of the Commander of the Defence Forces and the Minister of Defence in mission areas. The servicemen and units of the Military Police of the Estonian Defence Forces also participate in performing international military duties.
